Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Activity Leader to support our after school program for children ages 5–12.
This role focuses on actively engaging with children, supporting program activities, and contributing to a structured, positive environment.
You will work closely with the Program Leader and team to deliver high-quality daily programming.
Major Responsibilities – In This Role, You Will:

Support the delivery of hands-on activities including science experiments, STEM projects, and creative programming

Actively engage and interact with children throughout the program

Provide individualized support to children as needed within the group setting

Collaborate effectively with team members to create a positive and inclusive program environment
-
Support children in resolving conflicts and consistently model respectful, positive behaviour
-
Recognize and support each child’s unique strengths and developmental needs
-
Assist with program setup, transitions, and daily routines
-
Help maintain a safe, organized, and engaging program space
-
Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities
-
Follow direction from the Program Leader and contribute to a strong team environment

Run Mommy & Me Classes – such as sensory story time
Qualifications – You Bring:
-
Must be at least 19 years of age
-
Experience working with children ages 5–12
-
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
-
Positive, energetic, and patient approach when working with children
-
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
-
Reliable, responsible, and organized
-
Emergency First Aid & CPR or willingness to obtain
Assets (Preferred):
-
Training or coursework in child development, education, or related fields
-
Experience supporting children with diverse needs
-
Interest in science, STEM, or hands-on activities
Additional Requirements:

Must provide 2 professional references
-
Must complete a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search (issued within 6 months prior to start date)
Position Details:
-
Hours: Monday–Friday, approximately 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM
-
Weekends if needed ( for birthday parties)
-
Weekday mornings if needed for Mommy & Me Classes
-
Expected Hours: 20–30 hours per week

Start Date: September 2026
Compensation:
-
$22.00 – $25.00 per hour, based on experience
